Newsletter: “Start of 2nd and 3rd phase of PEP-NET online discourse” 1. January 2007 – 11:12 by John Heaven (TuTech Innovation GmbH)

Dear Reader,

Today (22nd April) we have launched phase 2 of the PEP-NET online discourse, which will be followed by a two week phase 3. Phase 2 and 3 will be focussed on consolidating the results of the discussion and the different topics which have been addressed.

To this end we have posted links to Google docs summarizing the discussion in the Main Forum.

These documents each cover a specific topic of the dicussion:

• Historical legacy, citizenship, civil society, trust in government, social capital
• Digital divide, infrastructure, penetration
• Lessons learned, best practice, and specific projects
• E-Voting
• Miscellaneous

In the second phase which will last from today till Friday April 23rd you can either posts comments about these documents directly into the forum or edit the Google docs themselves.

In the third phase, which will end May 7th, the Google documents will still be open for editing and can be found via the links in the forum. Comments in the forum itself will not be possible anymore.

There will be no more live discussions in phase 2 and 3. After the end of the third phase all results will be used to prepare a situation paper which will be provided to the European Commission.
