Founded in 2004, POLITECH INSTITUTE is a not-for-profit international association (AISBL) and a European Centre of Political Technologies located in Brussels, Capital of Europe, (Belgium), dedicated to promote novel concepts and innovation empowering the different stakeholders in a ‘citizen-driven’ digital world, as well as support the development of effective strategies, policies and share of good practices in the converging domains of Political Technologies - e-Politics, e-Participation, e-Democracy, e-Diplomacy, e-Citizenship, e-Governance and e-Government. Being the sole independent European Centre of Excellence with a pan-European vision in the converging domains of Political Technologies, POLITECH INSTITUTE has developed a neutral and privileged framework to encourage exchange, dialogue and collaboration between public institutions, international institutions, governments, regional and local authorities, universities, research centres, think tanks, civil society and political leaders with technology actors for a better use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) towards the advancement of modern public governance and democracy. POLITECH INSTITUTE offers its members a European and International platform of network, exchange, consultation, information, debate, training, and a European home to research and development initiatives to generate innovation and share good practices. POLITECH INSTITUTE is an “innovation-driven” Do-Tank bridging ALL stakeholders in the converging domains of Political Technologies, promoting and playing an active role in policy shaping and innovation in Europe at European, national, regional and local levels. POLITECH INSTITUTE is continually developing additional innovative activities and upgrading its current ones based on its core competencies for the benefit of its members and the whole community of stakeholders to enhance European innovation, visibility and partnership in the converging domains of Political Technologies, as a European Wellspring of Excellence and Innovation to meet successfully the challenges of modern politics and public governance in Cyberspace. Since May 2008, POLITECH INSTITUTE is a Member Observer of the Global Cities Dialogue and is its point of contact for Belgian Cities and European organisations. POLITECH INSTITUTE prides itself on a multidisciplinary and expert team with a growing network of over 3000 worldwide. EXPERT SERVICES POLITECH INSTITUTE as a European Center of Excellence delivers powerful and EXPERT SERVICES to empower, train, educate, activate and mobilize public, academic, civil and private stakeholders and end-users to meet successfully the challenges of modern politics and public governance in Cyberspace: @ Conceptualization & organization of European and International workshops and events in dynamic partnerships and participation of key actors from the public, academia, not-for-profit and private sectors; PROJECTS, INITIATIVES AND PUBLICATIONS EUROPEAN PROJECTS: @ MOMENTUM (Monitoring, Coordinating and Promoting the European Union eParticipation Projects and Initiatives): MOMENTUM project aims to monitor the existing and on coming eParticipation projects co-funded by European Commission, to consolidate their results and provide feedback to them and to the respective EC bodies and other designated stakeholders, advancing the high-level political and institutional engagement. MOMENTUM is a Specific Support Action project, co-funded under the European Commission’s eParticipation Programme – Started in 2008; OTHER PROJECTS: POLITECH INSTITUTE, in the framework of the first International Executive Master in e-Governance, launched by the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL) in 2004 and in partnership with University of St. Gallen (Switzerland), Monterrey Tech (Mexico) and the University of Tampere (Finland), organised, in January 2005, a week of seminars and debates dedicated to the European dimension of e-Governance. INITIATIVES: POLITECH INSTITUTE is an active partner and member of Steering and Scientific Committees in prominent international events, such as: PUBLICATIONS: POLITECH INSTITUTE publishes the European Review of Political Technologies (ERPT), a unique pan-European online periodical bridging the domains of Political Technologies. The main purpose of ERPT is to empower Europe as a major engine while generating sustainable synergies and collaboration among these related areas and their different stakeholders towards a common European strategic vision and the advancement of modern public governance and democracy. ERPT provides all stakeholders with a wide range of perspectives from different stakeholders and disciplines. Quality and Excellence is the primary mission of ERPT Editorial Board and Honorary Scientific Committee composed of renowned international and European experts, practitioners, leaders and public officials. POLITECH INSTITUTE proposes Exclusive & Prestigious Editions of the European Review of Political Technologies (ERPT): POLITECH INSTITUTE publishes The European eDemocracy Award Report, in partnership with IP LABEL for The Annual European eDemocracy Award, in the framework of The World eDemocracy Forum, Issy-les-Moulineaux (France). |
