European Commission announces e-Inclusion award winners

Seven European initiatives won the European e-Inclusion Awards 2008 for their innovative uses of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) to promote digital and social inclusion in Europe. The winners were announced  at the e-Inclusion Ministerial Conference in Vienna (December 1), the concluding event of the Commission’s ‘Be Part of it!’ campaign. And here are the winners:

Ageing Well: London Borough of Newham (United Kingdom)
Geographic Inclusion: Kyyjarven Mediamyllarit ry (Finland)
Digital Literacy: Association “Langas i ateiti” (Lithuania)
Cultural Diversity: Milton Keynes Council (United Kingdom)
Marginalised Young People:A-Clinic Foundation (Finland)
e-Accessibility: Synscenter Refsnæs (Denmark)
Inclusive Public Services: Sotiria Hospital (Greece)
